Regular Season Round 11: La Spezia - Trieste 74-65

The game between closely ranked teams ended with thirteenth ranked La Spezia's (3-8) home victory over bottom-ranked Trieste (1-10) 74-65 on Sunday. The hosts took control from the first minutes by winning first half. But Trieste won third quarter 16-11. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. It was a great evening for Latvian power forward Lauma Reke (185-86, college: St.Peter's) who led her team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 13 points and 11 rebounds. American center Cassie Sant (190, college: Dayton) helped adding 18 points. Hungarian forward Anna Vida (185-85, agency: Interperformances) responded with 19 points and 5 rebounds and forward Giovanna Pertile (182-92, agency: Players Group) scored 17 points. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. La Spezia moved-up to eleventh place, which they share with Vigarano. Trieste lost their ninth game in a row. Newly promoted team stay at the bottom position with ten games lost. La Spezia will face league's leader Ragusa on the road in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Trieste will play against Vigarano (#11) and hope to win that game.
