Regular Season Round 12: Asseco II - Tczew 90-69

Rather expected game when 8th ranked Tczew (3-7) was smashed by fifth ranked Asseco II (5-3) in Gdynia 90-69 on Sunday. The hosts trailed by 4 points after first quarter, but they stormed back to get the 4-point lead at the halftime and eventually won the game 90-69. Asseco II made 22-of-25 free shots (88.0 percent) during the game, while Tczew only scored four points from the stripe. Asseco II forced 22 Tczew turnovers. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. It was a good game for Daniel Grujic (201-90) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 24 points, 11 rebounds and 4 assists. Guard Filip Matczak (187-93) contributed with 17 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists for the winners. Forward Filip Struski (200-94) replied with 23 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists and Michal Kalinski (-80) added 13 points and 7 rebounds in the effort for Tczew. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Asseco II have a solid three-game winning streak. Newly promoted Asseco II maintains fifth position in Group A with 5-3 record. Tczew at the other side, also newcomer in the league, keeps the eighth place with seven games lost. Asseco II will face Kotwica (#6) in Kolobrzeg in the next round. Tczew will play at home against AZS PGd and hope to win that game.
