Regular Season Round 12: Pyrinto - TuRi 90-79

No shocking result in a game when seventh ranked Pyrinto (5-7) beat bottom-ranked TuRi (2-10) in Tampere 90-79. The game was mostly controlled by Pyrinto. TuRi was better in fourth quarter 22-15. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They dominated down low during the game scoring 60 of its points in the paint compared to TuRi's 36. Pyrinto forced 23 TuRi turnovers. The best player for the winners was American forward Jessica Schroll (180-91, college: Cent.Michigan) who scored 32 points and 5 rebounds. Hendderson Brittany chipped in a double-double by scoring 22 points, 11 rebounds and 4 assists. Four Pyrinto players scored in double figures. At the other side the best for losing team was American guard Shafontaye Myers (173-92, college: Alabama) who recorded 32 points and 6 rebounds (went 8 for 8 at the free throw line) and her fellow American import guard Amber Moore (180-90, college: Illinois) added 20 points respectively. Both coaches used bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Pyrinto have a solid three-game winning streak. Newly promoted Pyrinto maintains seventh position with 5-7 record. TuRi lost eighth consecutive game. They stay at the bottom place with ten games lost. Pyrinto's next round opponent will be higher ranked HyPo (#6) in Hyvinkaa and it may be quite challenging game. TuRi will play on the road against HyPo (#6) in Hyvinkaa and hope to win that game.
