Everything went according to plan when third ranked Vicenza (8-2) defeated at home 6th ranked Virtus Cagliari (3-7) 65-52 on Sunday. The game was mostly controlled by Vicenza. Virtus Cagliari was better in fourth quarter 30-10. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They dominated on the defensive end, holding Virtus Cagliari to just 1 points in third quarter. Vicenza forced 25 Virtus Cagliari turnovers.
