Regular Season Round 11: Maccabi Rishon - Maccabi T-A 66-74

An exciting game between Top Four teams was played in Rishon Le-Zion. Second ranked Maccabi T-A faced 3rd placed Maccabi Rishon. Guests from Tel-Aviv (9-2) defeated host Maccabi Rishon (7-4) 74-66. The guests started the game with a very strong first quarter 22-13. But Maccabi Rishon won third quarter 19-13. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Maccabi T-A looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. It was a great evening for international point guard Yogev Ohayon (189-87) who led his team to a victory scoring 8 points and 13 assists. American forward Brian Randle (203-85) helped adding 12 points and 9 rebounds. Four Maccabi T-A players scored in double figures. Naturalized American Tony Younger (199-80, college: Spring Hill) responded with a double-double by scoring 19 points and 12 rebounds and international swingman Shawn Dawson (196-93) scored 7 points and 8 rebounds. Maccabi T-A have an impressive series of five victories in a row. Defending champion maintains second place with 9-2 record. Loser Maccabi Rishon keeps the third position with four games lost. They share it with Ironi Nes-Ziona. Maccabi T-A will meet at home Ironi Nes-Ziona (#3) in the next round, which may be the game of the day. Maccabi Rishon will play against Bnei Hasharon in Hod Hasharon and hope to secure a win.
