There was no surprise when 5th ranked Bnot Hertzeliya (4-4) was crushed at home by top-ranked Maccabi Ashdod (8-0) 71-50 on Monday. The game was mostly controlled by Maccabi Ashdod. Bnot Hertzeliya was better in third quarter 14-10. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They dominated on the defensive end, holding Bnot Hertzeliya to just 7 points in fourth quarter. Maccabi Ashdod held Bnot Hertzeliya to an opponent 25.0 percent shooting from the field compared to 42.9 percent accuracy of the winners. Maccabi Ashdod have an impressive eight-game winning streak. Defending champion maintains first position with 8-0 record. Bnot Hertzeliya lost third consecutive game. They keep the fifth place with four games lost. Maccabi Ashdod will face Elitzur Holon (#9) at home in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Bnot Hertzeliya will play against the league's second-placed Elitzur Ramla (#2) and hope to win that game.
