No shocking result in a game when seventh ranked Hap.Petah Tikva (3-5) defeated at home bottom-ranked Elitzur Netanya (0-8) 72-60 on Monday. The game was mostly controlled by Hap.Petah Tikva. Elitzur Netanya was better in third quarter 17-13. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They outrebounded Elitzur Netanya 58-29 including a 22-4 advantage in offensive rebounds. The best player for the winners was Nigerian-American forward Atonye Nyingifa (180-90, college: UCLA, agency: Regeneracom Sports) who had a double-double by scoring 25 points and 24 rebounds. American guard Keena Mays (170, college: SMU) chipped in 23 points, 7 rebounds, 8 assists and 7 steals. Canadian forward Kalisha Keane (185-89, college: Michigan St.) produced 19 points and 6 rebounds and American point guard Haiden Palmer (173, college: Gonzaga, agency: LBM Management) added 14 points and 5 rebounds respectively for the guests. Hap.Petah Tikva moved-up to sixth place, which they share with Ramat Hasharon and ASA Jerusalem. Loser Elitzur Netanya still closes the standings with eight games lost. Hap.Petah Tikva will face higher ranked Maccabi Ramat Hen (#3) on the road in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Elitzur Netanya will play against Hapoel Rishon Le-Zion (#4) and hopes to get finally their first victory.
