Very important is a home loss of second ranked Minas (6-3) against ninth ranked Paschoalotto/Bauru (4-2) on Tuesday night. Host Minas was defeated by Paschoalotto/Bauru in a tough game in Belo Horizonte 79-84. It ended at the same time the five-game winning streak of Minas. Minas was tied after three quarters but could not keep up in the last quarter eventually losing the game. Paschoalotto/Bauru made 16-of-20 free shots (80.0 percent) during the game. Point guard Ricardo Fischer (185-91) stepped up and scored 19 points, 5 rebounds and 8 assists for the winners and the former international center Rafael Hettsheimer (206-86) chipped in 24 points. The best for the losing side was point guard Henrique Coelho (183-93) with 20 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists and the former international power forward Shilton Santos (198-82) produced a double-double by scoring 10 points and 12 rebounds. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Paschoalotto/Bauru moved-up to seventh place. Loser Minas keeps the second position with three games lost. Paschoalotto/Bauru will face Unitri (#9) in Uberlandia in the next round. Minas will play at home against Vivo/Franca (#3) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
