There was a minor upset in Hod Hasharon where 12th ranked Hasharon (2-6) was rolled over by fourteenth ranked Hapoel Kfar Saba (1-7) 92-67 on Tuesday. The game without a history. Hapoel Kfar Saba led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. Hapoel Kfar Saba outrebounded Hasharon 44-30 including a 33-19 advantage in defensive rebounds. It was a great shooting night for Hapoel Kfar Saba especially from behind the arc, where they had solid 55.6 percentage. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 31 assists comparing to just 16 passes made by Hasharon's players. Worth to mention a great performance of American guard Vernon Teel (193-87, college: Loyola Mary) who helped to win the game recording a triple-double by scoring 25 points, 13 rebounds and 13 assists and the other American import center DeAngelo Riley (206-88, college: Azusa Pacific) who added 21 points and 16 rebounds (on 9-of-11 shooting from the field) during the contest. Four Hapoel Kfar Saba players scored in double figures. American guard Jeremy Allen (193-88, college: FIU, agency: Pro Partner Sports Management) responded with 13 points and 4 assists and naturalized American point guard Oren Menskey (180-85, college: St.Gregory) scored 16 points. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Hapoel Kfar Saba left bottom position moving up to thirteenth place, which they share with Elitzur Ramla. It was Hasharon's fourth loss in a row. They dropped to the eleventh position with six games lost. Hapoel Kfar Saba will face higher ranked Ironi Ramat Gan (#6) at home in the next round and they do not belong to the favorites in that game.
