Regular Season Round 9: Uberlandia - Vivo/Franca 67-70

A very interesting game took place in Uberlandia. It ended with only three-point home defeat of 7th ranked Unitri (4-4) to fourth ranked Vivo/Franca (6-3) 70-67 on Tuesday evening. The guests were already 11 points ahead at halftime and as many as 12 after three quarters before a 26-17 last quarter charge of Unitri cut the lead to 70-67 at the end of the game. Vivo/Franca had a 25-14 advantage in offensive rebounds. It was a good game for Argentinian Marcos Mata (201-86) who led his team to a victory with 17 points and 6 rebounds. The former international center Leonardo Klassmann (208-89) contributed with 11 points and 8 rebounds for the winners. The former international Audrei Parisotto (196-84) answered with 17 points and Uruguayan forward Emilio Taboada (191-82) added 11 points in the effort for Unitri. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Unitri's coach tried various players' combinations and tested in total eleven players in this game, but that didn't help. Vivo/Franca moved-up to second place, which they share with Minas and S.Jose/Unimed. Unitri at the other side dropped to the ninth position with four games lost. Vivo/Franca's next round opponent will be Minas (#4) in Belo Horizonte. Unitri will play at home against Paschoalotto/Bauru (#7) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
