Regular Season Round 17: Foshan LL - Chongqing FD 126-90

No shocking result in a game when tenth ranked Foshan (9-8) crushed at home 19th ranked Chongqing FD (3-14) 126-90 on Tuesday. The game was mostly controlled by Foshan. Chongqing FD managed to win fourth quarter 29-21. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They made 22-of-23 free shots (95.7 percent) during the game. Foshan outrebounded Chongqing FD 40-29 including 30 on the defensive glass. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 27 assists comparing to just 14 passes made by Chongqing FD's players. Great defensive blocking was one of the keys in this match when Foshan made 7 blocks. Ukrainian center Viacheslav Kravtsov (211-87, agency: Beo Basket) nailed a double-double by scoring 20 points, 12 rebounds and 6 blocks (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field) for the winning side and Nigerian-American point guard Josh-Emmanuel Akognon (180-86, college: CS Fullerton) accounted for 23 points and 6 assists. Forward JunJiang Dong (200-80) came up with 17 points and forward Heqi Teng (200-93) added 12 points and 6 rebounds respectively for Chongqing FD in the defeat. Five Foshan and four Chongqing FD players scored in double figures. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Foshan maintains tenth place with 9-8 record. Chongqing FD lost their third game in a row. Newly promoted team dropped to the seventeenth position with 14 games lost. They share it with Sichuan BW and Bayi R.. Foshan will meet higher ranked Shanxi Zhongyu (#6) in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Chongqing FD will play against Sichuan BW (#18) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
