Regular Season Round 8: Ramat Hasharon - Hapoel G/A 87-91

Everything went according to plan in Ramat Hasharon where sixth ranked Hapoel Afula (6-2) beat 10th ranked Hasharon (3-5) 91-87 on Tuesday. The guests took control from the first minutes by winning first half. But Hasharon won fourth quarter 30-24. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Hapoel Afula made 21-of-26 free shots (80.8 percent) during the game. They also forced 22 Hasharon turnovers. Worth to mention a great performance of American forward David Loubeau (203-89, college: Texas A&M) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 25 points and 14 rebounds and the other American import guard Shannon Shorter (193-89, college: N.Texas) who added 23 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists during the contest. American guard Keion Bell (193-91, college: Missouri) responded with 16 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists and guard Ofir Axebard (-93) scored 18 points and 6 rebounds. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Hapoel Afula moved-up to second place, which they share with Ironi K-A and Hapoel Migd.H. Loser Hasharon dropped to the ninth position with five games lost. Hapoel Afula will face again Hasharon (#12) in Hod Hasharon in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Hasharon will play on the road against GreenTops Netanya and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
