Regular Season Round 21: Pioneros - Halc.Rojos 90-93

The most exciting game of round 21 in the LNBP took place in Cancun. This derby game ended with only three-point home defeat of 4th placed Pioneros (12-6) to first ranked Halcones Rojos (16-3) 93-90 on Tuesday evening. It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of Pioneros. Pioneros were tied after three quarters but could not keep up in the last quarter eventually losing the game. Halcones Rojos made 21-of-27 free shots (77.8 percent) during the game. It was a good game for Puerto Rican swingman David Huertas (195-87, college: Mississippi) who led his team to a victory with 17 points, 5 rebounds and 7 assists. American forward Devin Ebanks (206-89, college: W.Virginia, agency: Interperformances) contributed with 17 points and 9 rebounds for the winners. American power forward Justin Keenan (202-88, college: Ferris St.) answered with a double-double by scoring 17 points and 11 rebounds (on 6-of-7 shooting from the field) and the former international Hector Hernandez (205-85, college: Fresno St.) added 20 points and 9 rebounds in the effort for Pioneros. Four Halcones Rojos and five Pioneros players scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. Halcones Rojos have an impressive series of nine victories in a row. They maintain first place with 16-3 record. Pioneros at the other side keep the fourth position with six games lost. Halcones Rojos are looking forward to face Abejas (#8) in Guanajuato in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Pioneros will play on the road against the league's second-placed Soles (#2) in Mexicali and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
