Regular Season Round 17: Shanghai S. - Sichuan BW 101-80

Date: December 10, 2014
Not a big story in a game when 18th ranked Sichuan BW (3-14) was outscored on the road by twelfth ranked Shanghai Sharks (8-9) 101-80 on Wednesday. The game was mostly controlled by Shanghai Sharks. Sichuan BW managed to win fourth quarter 23-22. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Shanghai Sharks looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. American forward Michael Beasley (208-89, college: Kansas St.) nailed a double-double by scoring 25 points, 17 rebounds, 4 assists and 4 steals for the winning side and point guard PengPeng Pengpeng (184-94) accounted for 20 points and 4 assists. Five Shanghai Sharks players scored in double figures. American forward Daniel Orton (208-90, college: Kentucky) came up with a double-double by scoring 23 points and 13 rebounds and Nigerian-American guard Michael Efevberha (193-84, college: CS Northridge) added 15 points and 8 rebounds respectively for Sichuan BW in the defeat. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Shanghai Sharks moved-up to eleventh place, which they share with Shandong FB. Sichuan BW lost their eighth game in a row. They dropped to the seventeenth position with 14 games lost. They share it with Bayi R. and Chongqing FD. Shanghai Sharks will meet Bayi Rockets (#17) in the next round which should be theoretically another easy game. Sichuan BW will play against Chongqing FD and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
