Bottom-ranked Maccabi Ashdod managed to get a second victory, breaking the series of five consecutive loses. This time they won against eighth-ranked Bnei Hasharon in Hod Hasharon 83-78. Bnei Hasharon was ahead by 6 points after three quarters before a 30-19 charge of Maccabi Ashdod, which allowed them to win the game. They made 22-of-28 charity shots (78.6 percent) during the game. The game was dominated by American players. It was an exceptional evening for forward James Nunnally (201-90, college: UCSB) who led the winners with a double-double by scoring 10 points, 11 rebounds and 4 assists. Curtis Kelly (205-88, college: Kansas St.) accounted for 17 points, 6 rebounds and 4 blocks for the winning side. Five Maccabi Ashdod players scored in double figures. Forward Jasper Johnson (203-83, college: Delta St.) came up with a double-double by scoring 15 points, 10 rebounds and 5 assists and point guard Josh Selby (188-91, college: Kansas) added 22 points respectively for Bnei Hasharon in the defeat. Maccabi Ashdod (2-9) moved-up to eleventh place, which they share with Ironi Nahariya. Bnei Hasharon at the other side keeps the eighth position with seven games lost. Maccabi Ashdod's next round opponent will be higher ranked Maccabi Haifa (#10) at home and it will be quite challenging to get another victory.
