Regular Season Round 21: Huracanes - Correcaminos 94-92

Eleventh-ranked Correcaminos (8-13) were very close to win a game against fifth ranked Huracanes (12-7) in Tampico. Huracanes managed to secure only two-point victory 94-92. However their fans expected much easier game. Correcaminos were ahead by 5 points after three quarters before a 21-14 charge of Huracanes, which allowed them to win the game. The best player for the winners was Nigerian-American power forward Suleiman Braimoh (203-89, college: Rice) who had a double-double by scoring 27 points and 13 rebounds. American swingman Cliff Tucker (198-89, college: Maryland) chipped in 26 points and 5 assists. At the other side the best for losing team was American forward Greg Smith (198, college: Colorado St., agency: Interperformances) who recorded 15 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists and the other American import power forward Mark Dawson (206-83, college: Long Beach St.) added 18 points and 7 rebounds respectively. Four Huracanes and five Correcaminos players scored in double figures. Huracanes maintains fifth place with 12-7 record. Correcaminos lost their eighth game in a row. They dropped to the tenth position with 13 games lost. Huracanes' next round opponent will be again Correcaminos (#11) in Ciudad Victoria which should be theoretically an easy game.
