An interesting game took place in Sao Paolo where higher ranked Pinheiros (5-4) was upset on its own court by eleventh ranked Paulistano (5-5) 93-89. Pinheiros was ahead by 6 points after three quarters before a 28-18 charge of Paulistano, which allowed them to win the game. They made 26-of-32 charity shots (81.3 percent) during the game. 30 personal fouls committed by Pinheiros helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. Worth to mention a great performance of American guard Desmond Holloway (191-90, college: Co.Carolina) who helped to win the game recording 30 points and 6 rebounds. The other American import point guard Kenny Dawkins (175-87, college: Lamar) contributed with 22 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists for the winners. Both coaches tested many bench players in such tough game. Paulistano moved-up to ninth place, which they share with Palmeiras. Pinheiros at the other side dropped to the eighth position with four games lost. Paulistano's next round opponent will be higher ranked Sao Jose/Vinac (#5) at home and it may be quite challenging game.
