Regular Season Round 13: Miedzychod - Slask 2 Wroclaw 77-63

Everything went according to plan when seventh ranked Miedzychod (5-7) defeated at home 11th ranked Slask 2 Wroclaw (3-9) 77-63 on Saturday. The game was mostly controlled by Miedzychod. Slask 2 Wroclaw was better in fourth quarter 20-10. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They outrebounded Slask 2 Wroclaw 50-29 including a 34-18 advantage in defensive rebounds. Great defensive blocking was one of the keys in this match when Miedzychod made 7 blocks. It was a very good performance for swingman Jakub Nowak (188-89) who helped to win the game recording 22 points and 6 rebounds. Center Piotr Wojdyr (217-90, agency: Promotex) contributed with a double-double by scoring 14 points, 10 rebounds, 4 assists and 4 blocks for the winners. Four Miedzychod players scored in double figures. Maksym Kulon (191-93) answered with 13 points and 8 rebounds and center Marcel Kliniewski (213-96) added 14 points in the effort for Slask 2 Wroclaw. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Miedzychod moved-up to sixth place in Group D. Slask 2 Wroclaw lost fourth consecutive game. They keep the eleventh position with nine games lost. Miedzychod will face higher ranked Nowa Sol (#5) on the road in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Slask 2 Wroclaw will play against Kalisz (#3) and hope to win that game.
