Regular Season Round 2: UBA - Moutahed 91-78

There was no surprise in Byblos where Al Moutahed (0-2) was defeated by UBA (2-0) 91-78 on Saturday. The game without a history. UBA led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. UBA outrebounded Al Moutahed 38-26 including a 30-17 advantage in defensive rebounds. Great defensive blocking was one of the keys in this match when UBA made 8 blocks. American guard Jasmon Youngblood (195-84, college: Kent St.) scored 41 points (!!!) and 5 rebounds to lead the charge for the winners and the former international swingman Mazen Mneimneh (192-86) chipped in 13 points and 5 rebounds (on 6-of-7 shooting from the field) during the contest. The former international power forward Charles Tabet (205-87, college: S.Alabama) responded with a double-double by scoring 18 points and 11 rebounds and American-Guinea-Bissau point guard Perry Petty (185-88, college: UTPA) scored 20 points and 6 assists. Four Al Moutahed players scored in double figures. UBA will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Al Moutahed will play against Hoops Club and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
