Regular Season Round 7: Dist.Olimpico - CREF Hola 53-70

The most exciting game was a derby match between two local teams from Madrid: CREF Hola (#4) and Dist.Olimpico (#3). Dist.Olimpico was crushed at home by 17 points 53-70 and even the advantage of their own court did not help. It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of Dist.Olimpico. The game was mostly controlled by CREF Hola. Dist.Olimpico managed to win second period 23-20. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. CREF Hola dominated down low during the game scoring 44 of its points in the paint compared to Dist.Olimpico's 20. CREF Hola forced 23 Dist.Olimpico turnovers and outrebounded them 37-26 including 16 on the offensive glass. It was a great evening for Canadian forward Kendel Ross (185-88, college: Dayton) who led her team to a victory scoring 18 points and 7 rebounds. Portuguese guard Maria Correia (173-91) helped adding 12 points and 4 assists. Four CREF Hola players scored in double figures. At the losing side power forward Elena Diaz (188-92) responded with 13 points and 6 rebounds and Patricia Arguello (178-87) scored 14 points. CREF Hola (5-1) moved-up to third place in Group B. Dist.Olimpico at the other side dropped to the fourth position with two games lost. CREF Hola are looking forward to face league's leader Alcobendas at home in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Dist.Olimpico will play against C.Adelantados in San Cristobal and is hoping to win this game.
