The game in Fukushima was also quite interesting. Sixth ranked Niigata Albirex (12-9) played at the court of 8th ranked Fukushima (6-15). Niigata Albirex managed to secure a 4-point victory 74-70 on Saturday. Fukushima was trailing by 1 point at halftime but managed to get 3-point lead after three quarters before a 21-14 charge of Niigata Albirex, which allowed them to win the game. It was a good game for American forward Thomas Kennedy (201-87, college: Detroit Mercy) who led his team to a victory with 22 points and 5 rebounds. Yuichi Ikeda (191-83) contributed with 20 points for the winners. Niigata Albirex's coach Fujitaka Hiraoka used a ten-player rotation in such tough game. American power forward Edward Morris (205-84, college: Pittsburg St.) answered with a double-double by scoring 11 points and 16 rebounds and the other American import forward Terrance Shannon (203-90, college: VCU) added 17 points and 10 rebounds in the effort for Fukushima. Four Fukushima players scored in double figures. The victory was the third consecutive win for Niigata Albirex. They moved-up to fifth place, which they share with Aomori Watts. Fukushima lost their third game in a row. Newly promoted team keeps the eighth position with 15 games lost. Niigata Albirex will have a break next round. Fukushima will play again at home against Niigata Albirex (#5) and hope to win that game.
