Regular Season Round 12: GKS Tychy - Zaglebie 76-84

There was a minor upset when 8th ranked GKS Tychy (5-7) was defeated at home by tenth ranked Zaglebie (5-7) 84-76 on Saturday. The guests trailed by 1 point at the halftime before their 53-44 charge in the second half, which allowed them to win the game. Zaglebie dominated down low during the game scoring 58 of its points in the paint compared to GKS Tychy's 38. Zaglebie forced 20 GKS Tychy turnovers. The best player for the winners was guard Grzegorz Mordzak (182-77) who scored 20 points and 7 assists. Pawel Bogdanowicz (197-87) chipped in 20 points. At the other side the best for losing team was point guard Radoslaw Basinski (188-78) who recorded 18 points and 7 rebounds and power forward Tomasz Deja (200-83) added 18 points and 7 rebounds respectively. Four GKS Tychy players scored in double figures. GKS Tychy's coach Tomasz Jagielka rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Zaglebie have a solid three-game winning streak. They moved-up to eighth place, which they share with GKS Tychy and Astoria Bydg. Zaglebie will meet at home AZS PP (#13) in the next round where they are favorite. GKS Tychy will play against SKK Siedlce (#14) and hope to secure a win.
