Very expected game when 11th ranked Yokohama BC (4-17) was smashed by third ranked Hamamatsu Phoenix (16-3) in Mikawa 108-69 on Saturday. The game without a history. Hamamatsu Phoenix led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated down low during the game scoring 62 of its points in the paint compared to Yokohama BC's 34. They outrebounded Yokohama BC 38-25 including 16 on the offensive glass. Hamamatsu Phoenix looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists comparing to just 9 passes made by Yokohama BC's players. American players dominated also this game. It was a good game for forward Mo Charlo (203-83, college: Nevada) who led his team to a victory with 24 points, 9 rebounds and 8 assists. Guard Nile Murry (193-83, college: TCU) contributed with 12 points and 6 rebounds for the winners. Forward Khyle Marshall (198-92, college: Butler) answered with 18 points and 9 rebounds and guard Warren Niles (196-89, college: ORU, agency: KMG Sports Management) added 14 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists in the effort for Yokohama BC. Five Hamamatsu Phoenix and four Yokohama BC players scored in double figures. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. The victory was the seventh consecutive win for Hamamatsu Phoenix. They moved-up to second place, which they share with Okinawa GK. Yokohama BC lost their eighth game in a row. They dropped to the tenth position with 17 games lost. Hamamatsu Phoenix will face again Yokohama BC (#11) at home in the next round and are hoping to win another game.
