Very expected game in Saint-Amand where 13th ranked Union Hainaut (2-9) was defeated by third ranked Lattes Montpellier (8-2) 71-53 on Saturday. The guests trailed by 2 points after first quarter, but they stormed back to get the 14-point lead at the halftime and eventually won the game 71-53. Lattes Montpellier forced 21 Union Hainaut turnovers. The best player for the winners was international forward Valerianne Ayayi (185-94, agency: Comsport) who scored 10 points and 9 rebounds. International guard Gaelle Skrela (177-83, agency: Josep and Nicolas) chipped in 15 points. Four Lattes Montpellier players scored in double figures. DR Congolese power forward Pauline Akonga Nsimbo (188-82, agency: LBM Management) produced a double-double by scoring 18 points and 10 rebounds and Senegalese power forward Astou Traore (182-81, agency: Josep and Nicolas) added 18 points and 7 rebounds respectively for the hosts. The victory was the fifth consecutive win for Lattes Montpellier. Defending champion moved-up to second place. Union Hainaut lost their fifth game in a row. They keep the thirteenth position with nine games lost. Lattes Montpellier will face league's leader Bourges on the road in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Union Hainaut will play against Arras (#5) and hope to win that game.
