The game between second ranked Peli-Karhut (9-4) and fourth ranked Aanekosken (8-5) was the most important one in the last round on Saturday night. Peli-Karhut was defeated by Aanekosken in Kotka 104-90. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Peli-Karhut. The guests trailed by 2 points after first quarter, but they stormed back to get the 2-point lead at the halftime and eventually won the game 104-90. Americans were the main players on the court. Power forward Chandra Harris (186-89, college: Georgia St.) stepped up with a double-double by scoring 32 points and 12 rebounds for the winners and center Kenya Robinson (182-70, college: New Orleans) chipped in 21 points and 13 rebounds. At the losing side swingman Jasmine Gill (185-90, college: JMU) responded with a double-double by scoring 21 points and 10 rebounds and forward Natasha Thames (183-91, college: Temple) produced a double-double by scoring 18 points and 12 rebounds. Five Aanekosken and four Peli-Karhut players scored in double figures. Aanekosken maintains fourth place with 8-5 record. Peli-Karhut at the other side keeps the second position with four games lost. Aanekosken are looking forward to face higher ranked Torpan Pojat (#3) in Helsinki in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Peli-Karhut will play on the road against Tapiolan Honka and is hoping to win this game.
