The game between Top Four teams took place in Melbourne. Second-best host Bulleen Boomers (8-6) lost to first ranked Bendigo Spirit (9-3) 78-66. It ended at the same time the six-game winning streak of Bulleen Boomers. The game without a history. Bendigo Spirit led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They made 18-of-21 free shots (85.7 percent) during the game. The former international Belinda Snell (180-81) stepped up with a double-double by scoring 22 points and 11 rebounds for the winners and American forward Kelsey Griffin (188-87, college: Nebraska) chipped in 20 points and 13 rebounds. The best for the losing side was the former international swingman Tess Madgen (180-90) with 16 points and 5 rebounds and international guard Rebecca Allen (185-92) scored 13 points and 7 rebounds. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Bendigo Spirit have a solid series of three victories in a row. Despite that victory Bendigo Spirit went down to second position due to points difference. Bulleen Boomers at the other side dropped to the third place with six games lost. Bendigo Spirit are looking forward to face Sydney Uni Flames (#4) at home in the next round. Bulleen Boomers will play against the league's leader Townsville Fire and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
