Second Stage Round 7: Henan - Sichuan 76-84

The game between Top Four teams took place in Jiyuan. 4th placed host Henan (2-14) lost to second ranked Whale (6-10) 84-76. Henan trailed by 15 points after 3 quarters before a 22-15 run in the last quarter cut the deficit to 76-84 at the end of the game. Henan was plagued by 24 personal fouls down the stretch. It was a great evening for Filipino-American center Chay Shegog (196-90, college: N.Carolina) who led her team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 16 points and 11 rebounds (on 8-of-9 shooting from the field). Forward Fan Feng (185-90) helped adding 20 points. At the losing side center Ying Tian (190-91) responded with a double-double by scoring 30 points and 13 rebounds (made all of her nine free throws !!!) and Cheng Miao scored 10 points and 5 rebounds. Four Henan players scored in double figures. Newly promoted Whale maintains second place in Places 9-12 with 6-10 record having six points less than leader Beijing. Henan lost their third game in a row. Henan at the other side, also newcomer in the league, keeps the fourth position with 14 games lost. Both teams do not play next round, which will be an opportunity for some rest.
