The game between Top Four teams took place in Shanghai. Second ranked host Shanghai Octopus (13-2) defeated 3rd placed Shanxi Rui Flame (10-5) 73-62. It looked good early as Shanxi Rui Flame took an 2-point lead at the end of first quarter. But then Shanghai Octopus had a 24-18 second period charge getting the lead and Shanxi Rui Flame was not able to take back game control losing it eventually 62-73. It was an exceptional evening for American center Sylvia Fowles (198-85, college: LSU) who led the winners and scored 30 points and 9 rebounds. Guard Ni Zhang (175-84) accounted for 22 points and 6 assists for the winning side. International power forward XueYa Ma (190-93) came up with 9 points, 12 rebounds and 6 assists and international center Wei Wei (206-89) added 13 points respectively for Shanxi Rui Flame in the defeat. Shanghai Octopus have a solid series of three victories in a row. They keep a position of Places 1-8 leader, which they share with Beijing. Defending champion Shanxi Rui Flame keeps the third place with five games lost. They share the position with Jiangsu. Shanghai Octopus will play against Jiangsu Phoenix (#3) in Yixing in the next round, which may be the game of the day. Shanxi Rui Flame will play at home against the league's leader Beijing Great Wall and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
