Regular Season Round 10: Wildcats - 36ers 97-76

Third ranked Perth Wildcats (10-4) crushed at home 7th ranked Adelaide 36ers (4-10) by 21 points 97-76, which is the biggest margin this round on Sunday night. The game was mostly controlled by Perth Wildcats. Adelaide 36ers was better in third quarter 24-17. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Perth Wildcats dominated down low during the game scoring 56 of its points in the paint compared to Adelaide 36ers' 34. They outrebounded Adelaide 36ers 55-33 including a 38-25 advantage in defensive rebounds. The former international power forward Matthew Knight (204-85, college: Loyola Mary) had a double-double by scoring 16 points, 16 rebounds and 4 assists to lead the charge for the winners and American forward DeAndre Daniels (206-92, college: Connecticut) chipped in 17 points and 8 rebounds during the contest. Five Perth Wildcats players scored in double figures. At the losing side American point guard Jamar Wilson (185-84, college: Albany) responded with 26 points and 5 rebounds and international power forward Anthony Petrie (203-83) scored 14 points and 7 rebounds. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Defending champion moved-up to second place, which they share with Taipans. Loser Adelaide 36ers keep the seventh position with ten games lost. Perth Wildcats will face Kings (#5) in Sydney in the next round. Adelaide 36ers will play at home against Cairns Taipans and hope to win that game.
