Very important is a home loss of first ranked Kyoto Hannar. (19-3) against fourth ranked Toyama Grouses (15-7) on Sunday night. Host Kyoto Hannar. was defeated by Toyama Grouses in a tough game in Kyoto 66-74. It ended at the same time the eight-game winning streak of Kyoto Hannar.. Kyoto Hannar. was ahead by 5 points at the halftime before a 47-34 second half run of Toyama Grouses. They outrebounded Kyoto Hannar. 44-27 including 31 on the defensive glass. Guard Mito Takeshi (184-85) notched 19 points and 7 rebounds to lead the effort and Panamanian forward Jamelle Horne (200-88, college: Arizona) supported him with 16 points and 10 rebounds. Even a double-double of 16 points and 11 rebounds by American forward Kevin Kotzur (203-89, college: St.Mary's, TX) did not help to save the game for Kyoto Hannar.. His fellow American import forward David Palmer (201-82, college: S.Utah) added 15 points and 6 rebounds for lost side. Four Kyoto Hannar. players scored in double figures. Kyoto Hannar.'s coach Honoo Hamaguchi rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Toyama Grouses maintains fourth position with 15-7 record.
