Regular Season Round 19: Chongqing FD - Shanghai S. 127-133

No shocking result in a game in Guangzhou where twelfth ranked Shanghai Sharks (10-9) defeated 19th ranked Chongqing FD (3-16) 133-127. Chongqing FD was ahead by 2 points at the halftime before a 41-29 third quarter run of Shanghai Sharks. They also forced 19 Chongqing FD turnovers. 30 personal fouls committed by Chongqing FD helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. It was an exceptional evening for American forward Michael Beasley (208-89, college: Kansas St.) who led the winners with a double-double by scoring 42 points (!!!), 9 rebounds and 10 assists. His fellow American import power forward Bernard James (208-85, college: Florida St.) accounted for 20 points and 13 rebounds for the winning side. Shanghai Sharks' coach allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. American point guard Willie Warren (193-89, college: Oklahoma, agency: Interperformances) came up with 66 points (!!!), 5 rebounds and 7 assists and Iranian Arsalan Kazemi (200-90, college: Oregon) added 20 points, 17 rebounds and 7 assists respectively for Chongqing FD in the defeat. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Shanghai Sharks have a solid series of three victories in a row. They moved-up to tenth place, which they share with Foshan LL and Shandong FB. Chongqing FD lost fifth consecutive game. Newly promoted team dropped to the eighteenth position with 16 games lost. Shanghai Sharks' next round opponent will be Zhejiang Chouzhou Bank (#14) in Hangzhou. Chongqing FD will play at home against Shanxi Zhongyu (#6) and hope to win that game.
