Regular Season Round 10: Templeogue - UL Eagles 65-62
Date: December 14, 2014
A very interesting game took place in Dublin. It ended with only three-point defeat on the road of 9th ranked UL Eagles (2-6) to fourth ranked Templeogue (5-4) 65-62 on Sunday evening. Host team only slightly avoided a big embarassment. Templeogue brought some defensive toughness making 7 blocks. American guard Isaac Gordon (196-88, college: UTEP) notched a double-double by scoring 25 points and 12 rebounds to lead the effort and the former international center Jason Killeen (211-85, college: GRU) supported him with 12 points, 13 rebounds and 4 blocks. Even a double-double of 14 points and 13 rebounds by the former international forward Stephen King (196-86) did not help to save the game for UL Eagles. American forward Orlando Parker (203-91, college: Wagner) added 17 points and 7 rebounds for lost side. UL Eagles' coach Paul Kelleher rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Templeogue maintains fourth position with 5-4 record. UL Eagles lost fifth consecutive game. They keep the ninth place with six games lost. Templeogue's next round opponent will be league's leader UCC Demons in Cork and it may be the game of the week. UL Eagles will play at home against UCD Marian (#7) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
