Regular Season Round 17: Mitsubishi DD - Hyogo S. 88-98

The game between second ranked Mitsubishi Dolphins (12-6) and fourth ranked Hyogo S. (8-10) was the most important one in the last round on Sunday night. Mitsubishi Dolphins were defeated by Hyogo S. in Nagoya 88-98. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Mitsubishi Dolphins. The game without a history. Hyogo S. led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. It was a great shooting night for Hyogo S. especially from behind the arc, where they had solid 52.4 percentage. American swingman William Knight (196-79, college: UCLA) orchestrated the victory by scoring 26 points and 9 rebounds. His fellow American import center Isaac Butts (208-89, college: Appalachian St.) contributed with a double-double by scoring 17 points and 10 rebounds for the winners. Five Hyogo S. players scored in double figures. Senegalese-French forward Amath M'Baye (206-89, college: Oklahoma) answered with 24 points, 6 rebounds, 5 assists and 5 steals and the former international guard Kei Igarashi (180-80) added 25 points and 5 rebounds in the effort for Mitsubishi Dolphins. Hyogo S. maintains fourth place with 8-10 record. Mitsubishi Dolphins at the other side keep the second position with six games lost. Hyogo S. will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Mitsubishi Dolphins will play on the road against Dragonflies in Hiroshima and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
