NBL top team - Aishin Sea Horses (18-0) managed to deliver another win on Sunday. This time they beat sixth ranked Kumamoto V. (1-15) 85-70. The game was mostly controlled by Aishin Sea Horses. Kumamoto V. managed to win second period 19-16. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Aishin Sea Horses dominated down low during the game scoring 62 of its points in the paint compared to Kumamoto V.'s 30. The former international center J.R. Sakuragi (206-76, college: UCLA) nailed 12 points, 5 rebounds and 8 assists for the winning side and Canadian center Scott Morrison (213-86, college: Portland St.) accounted for 14 points and 9 rebounds. American swingman Garlon Green (201-91, college: TCU) came up with 21 points and 6 rebounds and Nigerian center Cyril Awere (211-85) added 12 points and 11 rebounds respectively for Kumamoto V. in the defeat. Five Aishin Sea Horses and four Kumamoto V. players scored in double figures. Aishin Sea Horses have an impressive series of eighteen victories in a row. They maintain first place with 18-0 record. Kumamoto V. lost third consecutive game. They keep the sixth position with 15 games lost. Aishin Sea Horses will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Kumamoto V. will play against Wakayama T. (#5) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
