There was no surprise when bottom-ranked Almeria (0-6) was defeated at home by sixth ranked IF Air Europa (4-3) 59-46 on Sunday. The guests trailed by 2 points after three quarters before their 24-9 charge, which allowed them to win the game. IF Air Europa forced 26 Almeria turnovers and outrebounded them 46-33 including a 18-6 advantage in offensive rebounds. Almeria was plagued by 24 personal fouls down the stretch. It was a great evening for Lithuanian power forward Gintare Mazionyte (188-91, college: Texas) who led her team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 15 points and 21 rebounds. Swingman Maria Espana (175-92) helped adding 5 points and 7 rebounds.
