Also Niigata Albirex (#5) was upset in Fukushima by eighth ranked Fukushima 59-54. It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of Niigata Albirex. The hosts started the game with a very strong first quarter 19-9. But Niigata Albirex won third quarter 23-17. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Worth to mention a great performance of American forward Terrance Shannon (203-90, college: VCU) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 11 points and 17 rebounds. point guard Masaya Karimata (178-88) contributed with 20 points and 4 assists for the winners. American forward Thomas Kennedy (201-87, college: Detroit Mercy) replied with 18 points and 5 rebounds and his fellow American import center Patrick Sullivan (206-88, college: SE Louisiana, agency: Two Points) added 11 points, 8 rebounds and 5 assists in the effort for Niigata Albirex. Niigata Albirex's coach Fujitaka Hiraoka tested ten players, but that didn't help to avoid defeat in this game. Fukushima (7-15) moved-up to seventh place, which they share with Takamatsu FA. Niigata Albirex at the other side dropped to the sixth position with ten games lost. Fukushima's next round opponent will be league's second-placed Hamamatsu Phoenix in Mikawa and they do not belong to the favorites in that game.
