There was a minor upset in Capo d'Orlando where higher ranked AV Cantu (4-6) was defeated by fourteenth ranked Upea CdO (4-6) 79-71 on Sunday. AV Cantu was tied after three quarters but could not keep up in the last quarter eventually losing the game. Upea CdO made 16-of-21 free shots (76.2 percent) during the game. AV Cantu was plagued by 24 personal fouls down the stretch. American guard Austin Freeman (192-89, college: Georgetown) fired 21 points for the winners. The other American import forward Dario Hunt (206-89, college: Nevada) chipped in 15 points, 9 rebounds and 4 blocks (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field). Four Upea CdO players scored in double figures. Dominican-American guard James Feldeine (193-88, college: Quinnipiac) produced 23 points and 5 rebounds (made all of his nine free throws !!!) and Georgian center Giorgi Shermadini (216-89) added 12 points and 7 rebounds respectively for lost side. AV Cantu's coach Stefano Sacripanti rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Upea CdO moved-up to tenth place, which they share with 4 other teams including defeated AV Cantu. AV Cantu lost third consecutive game. Upea CdO will have a break next round.
