Everything went according to plan in Logrono where twelfth ranked Leyma Basquet (5-7) beat bottom-ranked Cocinas.com (3-10) 71-64 on Sunday. The guests took control from the first minutes by winning first half. But Cocinas.com won third quarter 14-9. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Cocinas.com was plagued by 26 personal fouls down the stretch. American-Jamaican guard Khalid Mutakabbir (193-91, college: Presbyterian, agency: KMG Sports Management) stepped up and scored 20 points for the winners and Trinidad and Tobago center Kyle Rowley (213-90, college: St.Mary's, CA) chipped in 9 points and 12 rebounds. At the losing side center Jose Maria Gonzalez (206-91, agency: Duran International) responded with a double-double by scoring 13 points and 12 rebounds and Czech point guard Jakub Kudlacek (193-90) scored 16 points. Leyma Basquet moved-up to tenth place, which they share with Penas Huesca and Oviedo. Cocinas.com lost third consecutive game. They stay at the bottom position with ten games lost. Leyma Basquet will face higher ranked Melilla Baloncesto (#7) at home in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory.
