Regular Season Round 11: Solna Vikings - Akropol 50-65

Rather expected game when 12th ranked Solna Vikings (1-10) were defeated at home by tenth ranked Akropol (3-8) 65-50 on Sunday. It was a very close game until the last quarter, when Akropol's pressure prevailed and they won that period 22-12 extending their advantage to 15 points. They held Solna Vikings to an opponent 24.6 percent shooting from the field compared to 35.8 percent accuracy of the winners. Akropol forced 19 Solna Vikings turnovers and outrebounded them 47-36 including 33 on the defensive glass. The best player for the winners was Serbian guard Jovana Ciric (173-83) who scored 13 points, 8 rebounds and 8 assists. The former international forward Cecilia Ferm (178-75) chipped in a double-double by scoring 11 points, 14 rebounds and 4 assists. Four Akropol players scored in double figures. Swingman Katarina Milenkovic (182-91) produced a double-double by scoring 21 points and 11 rebounds and Fanny Paulin (177-97) added 9 points respectively for the hosts. Akropol moved-up to ninth place, which they share with Visby. Loser Solna Vikings stay at the bottom position with ten games lost. Akropol will meet higher ranked Telge (#7) on the road in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Solna Vikings will play against Norrkoping Dolphins (#6) and hope to win that game.
