Regular Season Round 12: Cagliari A. - Ferrara 56-81

Serie A2 top team - Ferrara (10-1) had no problems winning another game. This time they crushed fifth ranked Cagliari A. (4-6) 81-56. The game was mostly controlled by Ferrara. Cagliari A. was better in third quarter 20-14. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They dominated on the defensive end, holding Cagliari A. to just 6 points in fourth quarter. Ferrara dominated down low during the game scoring 48 of its points in the paint compared to Cagliari A.'s 28 and made 18-of-21 charity shots (85.7 percent) during the game. They outrebounded Cagliari A. 33-21 including 22 on the defensive glass. It was a good game for power forward Giulia Rulli (185-91) who led her team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 18 points and 11 rebounds. Guard Alessandra Fidossi (172-90) replied with 19 points and guard Sabrina Pacilio (176-76) added 10 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists in the effort for Cagliari A.Ferrara maintains first position in A2 with 10-1 record. Cagliari A. at the other side keeps the fifth place with six games lost. Ferrara's next round opponent will be Virtus Cagliari (#8) at home and are hoping to win another game. Cagliari A. will play against Alpo VR in Verona and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
