Regular Season Round 11: Visby - Umea 76-84

Damligan top team - Umea (11-0) added another victory to their record. This time they beat ninth ranked Visby Ladies (3-8) 84-76. The guests were already 16 points ahead at halftime and as many as 23 after three quarters before a 30-15 last quarter charge of Visby Ladies cut the lead to 84-76 at the end of the game. Umea forced 20 Visby Ladies turnovers and outrebounded them 50-31 including 18 on the offensive glass. Visby Ladies were plagued by 24 personal fouls down the stretch. It was a quality performance for international guard Agnes Nordstrom (180-88) who led the winners with a double-double by scoring 20 points, 10 rebounds, 7 assists and 4 steals. Lithuanian forward Lina Pikciute (192-90, agency: Josep and Nicolas) accounted for 20 points and 8 rebounds for the winning side. Five Umea players scored in double figures. Croatian guard Tea Buzov (176-90) came up with 13 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists and forward Marlene Wallin (175-81) added 13 points respectively for Visby Ladies in the defeat. Visby Ladies' coach rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Umea have an impressive series of eleven victories in a row. They maintain first place with 11-0 record. Visby Ladies lost third consecutive game. They keep the ninth position with eight games lost. They share it with Akropol. Umea will play against Sallen (#3) in Uppsala in the next round, which may be the game of the day. Visby Ladies will play on the road against Mark Basket (#5) in Kinna and hope to get back on the winning track.
