Regular Season Round 12: Galil Gilboa - Hapoel Holon 74-72

Date: December 14, 2014
A very close game took place in Rosh Pina between Galil Gilboa and Hapoel Holon. Eighth ranked Galil Gilboa (5-7) got a very close home victory over 5th ranked Hapoel Holon (6-5). Galil Gilboa managed to escape with a 2-point win 74-72 on Sunday evening. The hosts took control from the first minutes by winning first half. But Hapoel Holon won third quarter 22-19. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. The game was decided in the last minutes when Galil Gilboa won last quarter 13-12. The winners were led by naturalized Polish point guard Oded Brandwein (179-88, agency: N.E.T.) who scored that evening 19 points and American guard Anthony Goods (191-87, college: Stanford) supported him with 13 points and 4 assists. Even 9 points, 9 rebounds and 6 assists by American Dominic McGuire (206-85, college: Fresno St.) did not help to save the game for Hapoel Holon. His fellow American import point guard Jordan Taylor (187-89, college: Wisconsin, agency: Three Eye Sports) added 13 points and 6 assists. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Galil Gilboa moved-up to seventh place, which they share with Hapoel Eilat. Loser Hapoel Holon dropped to the sixth position with five games lost. Galil Gilboa will meet Hapoel Eilat (#8) on the road in the next round. Hapoel Holon will play against the league's leader Maccabi T-A where they are definitely not considered as a favorite in this game either.
