Regular Season Round 10: Gorizont - BrGU 109-54

An exciting game between Top Four teams was played in Minsk. Top-ranked Gorizont faced 4th ranked BrGU COR Victoria. Host Gorizont (9-0) smashed guests from Brest (5-4) 109-54. It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of BrGU COR Victoria. The game without a history. Gorizont led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. Gorizont forced 21 BrGU COR Victoria turnovers and outrebounded them 36-25 including a 29-16 advantage in defensive rebounds. Gorizont players were unselfish on offense dishing 27 assists comparing to just 8 passes made by BrGU COR Victoria's players. Worth to mention a great performance of the former international forward Yuliya Dureika (179-86) who helped to win the game recording 20 points and 5 assists. The former international forward Tatyana Troina (188-81, college: S.Carolina) contributed with 18 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists for the winners. Five Gorizont players scored in double figures. Center Tatsiana Rebianchuk (186-88) replied with 16 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists and forward Nadzeya Yakovits (182-90) added 14 points in the effort for BrGU COR Victoria. BrGU COR Victoria's coach gave up on the game allowing to play ten players seeing no chance for a win. Gorizont have an impressive nine-game winning streak. They maintain first position with 9-0 record. BrGU COR Victoria at the other side keeps the fourth place with four games lost. Gorizont will play against Olimpia GrGAU (#3) in Grodno in the next round, which may be the game of the day. BrGU COR Victoria will play at home against RGUOR and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
