Regular Season Round 19: Beijing Ducks - DongGuan L. 109-106

Eighth-ranked DongGuan Leopards (11-7) made lots of trouble for fourth ranked Beijing Ducks (15-4) on Sunday. Beijing Ducks managed to secure only three-point victory 109-106. However their fans expected much easier game. It ended at the same time the four-game winning streak of DongGuan Leopards. The hosts took control from the first minutes by winning first half. But DongGuan Leopards won fourth quarter 30-24. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Beijing Ducks made 24-of-31 free shots (77.4 percent) during the game. Strangely DongGuan Leopards outrebounded Beijing Ducks 50-37 including 19 on the offensive glass. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. American power forward Randolph Morris (211-86, college: Kentucky) fired a double-double by scoring 30 points and 12 rebounds for the winners. His fellow American import guard Stephon Marbury (188-77, college: Georgia Tech) chipped in 18 points and 8 assists. Four Beijing Ducks players scored in double figures. American point guard Bobby Brown (188-84, college: CS Fullerton) produced 38 points (!!!) and 8 assists and international power forward TongLin Sun (208-92) added 23 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists (on 11-of-12 shooting from the field) respectively for lost side. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. Beijing Ducks have a solid series of four victories in a row. Defending champion moved-up to third place. DongGuan Leopards at the other side keep the eighth position with seven games lost. Beijing Ducks are looking forward to face league's second-placed Guandong Tigers in Dongguan in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. DongGuan Leopards will play at home against Jilin Tigers (#9) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
