Regular Season Round 11: Energa Torun - Rybnik 79-66

No shocking result in a game when second ranked Energa Torun (9-2) beat at home 6th ranked Rybnik (6-5) 79-66. Rybnik was ahead by 6 points at the halftime before a 47-28 second half run of Energa Torun. They dominated down low during the game scoring 54 of its points in the paint compared to Rybnik's 28. Energa Torun had a 15-3 advantage in offensive rebounds. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 23 assists. It was a great evening for Jamaican-American point guard Maurita Reid (172-85, college: Miami, FL) who led her team to a victory scoring 12 points, 5 rebounds, 7 assists and 5 steals. The former international forward Agnieszka Makowska (182-82) helped adding 12 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists. Four Energa Torun players scored in double figures. American guard Leah Metcalf (170-83, college: N.Carolina) responded with a triple-double by scoring 22 points and 10 rebounds and the other American import center Drey Mingo (191-89, college: Purdue, agency: LBM Management) produced a double-double by scoring 13 points and 12 rebounds. Energa Torun maintains second place with 9-2 record having just two points less than leader Wisla Krakow. Rybnik at the other side keeps the sixth position with five games lost. Energa Torun will play against AZS UMCS (#7) in Lublin in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. Rybnik will play on the road against Artego Bydg. in Bydgoszcz and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
