Regular Season Round 10: Sanaye - Azad 43-71

Superleague top team - Azad (8-1) had no problems winning another game. This time they crushed ninth ranked Sanaye (0-9) in Mahshahr 71-43. The game without a history. Azad led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated on the defensive end, holding Sanaye to just 2 points in second quarter and to 12 points in first half. Azad forced 23 Sanaye turnovers and outrebounded them 45-31 including a 17-3 advantage in offensive rebounds. International power forward Hossein Rahmati (203-93) notched a double-double by scoring 13 points and 12 rebounds to lead the effort and the former international point guard Hamed Hosseinzadeh (187-87) supported him with 11 points and 4 assists. Azad's coach Mehran Shahintab felt very confident that he used 11 players and allowed the starting five to rest. Even 13 points and 6 rebounds by Amin Boghlani did not help to save the game for Sanaye. International Farid Haghayeghi (190-85) added 15 points for lost side. Azad have an impressive five-game winning streak. They maintain first position with 8-1 record, which they share with Mahram. Sanaye at the other side still closes the standings with nine games lost. Azad will play against Shahrdari Gorgan (#7) at home in the next round where they are favorite. Sanaye will play against Qazvin and hopes to get finally their first victory.
