Regular Season Round 9: Maccabi R.Hen - Hap.Petah Tikva 94-72

Very expected game when 8th ranked Hap.Petah Tikva (3-6) was smashed on the road by third ranked Maccabi Ramat Hen (7-2) 94-72 on Monday. The game was mostly controlled by Maccabi Ramat Hen. Hap.Petah Tikva was better in fourth quarter 19-14. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Maccabi Ramat Hen shot the lights out from three sinking 18 long-distance shots on high 54.5 percentage. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 30 assists. It was a good game for American forward Kayla Thornton (185-92, college: UTEP) who led her team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 16 points, 15 rebounds and 8 assists. International guard Jacqui Kalin (175-89, college: N.Iowa, agency: Regeneracom Sports) contributed with 23 points and 5 assists (perfect behind the arc making all seven shots !!!) for the winners. Nigerian-American forward Atonye Nyingifa (180-90, college: UCLA, agency: Regeneracom Sports) answered with a double-double by scoring 16 points, 17 rebounds and 4 assists and American guard Keena Mays (170, college: SMU) added 17 points and 8 assists in the effort for Hap.Petah Tikva. Five Maccabi Ramat Hen and four Hap.Petah Tikva players scored in double figures. Maccabi Ramat Hen have an impressive series of six victories in a row. They moved-up to second place. Loser Hap.Petah Tikva dropped to the seventh position with six games lost. Maccabi Ramat Hen will face ASA Jerusalem (#6) on the road in the next round. Hap.Petah Tikva will play against Hapoel Rishon Le-Zion and hope to win that game.
