The game in Ruda Slaska was also worth to mention about. Fourth ranked Polonia Bytom (8-5) played at the court of 8th ranked Pogon RS (5-8). Polonia Bytom did not have too big problems and got a relatively easy victory 79-62. The game was mostly controlled by Polonia Bytom. Pogon RS was better in fourth quarter 12-10. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Polonia Bytom dominated down low during the game scoring 50 of its points in the paint compared to Pogon RS's 30. Polonia Bytom forced 19 Pogon RS turnovers. 29 personal fouls committed by Pogon RS helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. Point guard Marcin Ecka (184-78) orchestrated the victory by scoring 16 points, 5 rebounds, 8 assists and 5 steals. Emil Podkowinski (194-88) contributed with 18 points and 7 rebounds for the winners. Center Adam Andula (201-87) replied with 13 points and 6 rebounds and center Tomasz Stankala (202-91) added 6 points and 6 rebounds in the effort for Pogon RS. Both coaches used bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Newly promoted Polonia Bytom maintains fourth position in Group C with 8-5 record, which they share with Alba Chorzow. Pogon RS at the other side, also newcomer in the league, dropped to the seventh place with eight games lost. Polonia Bytom's next round opponent will be MKS DG 2 (#9) in Dabrowa Gornicza where they are favorite. Pogon RS will play on the road against Wisla Krakow and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
