Regular Season Round 20: Guangdong ST - Beijing Ducks 122-98

An interesting game for Guandong Tigers (16-3) which hosted in Dongguan one of their biggest challengers Beijing Ducks (15-5). Second ranked Guandong Tigers had an easy win 122-98. It ended at the same time the four-game winning streak of Beijing Ducks. The game without a history. Guandong Tigers led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated down low during the game scoring 68 of its points in the paint compared to Beijing Ducks' 48 and made 18-of-21 free shots (85.7 percent) during the game. They outrebounded Beijing Ducks 46-32 including a 38-21 advantage in defensive rebounds. Guandong Tigers looked well-organized offensively handing out 26 assists. International Jianlian Yi (212-87) orchestrated the victory with a double-double by scoring 38 points (!!!) and 15 rebounds (on 15-of-19 shooting from the field). American point guard Will Bynum (183-83, college: Georgia Tech, agency: Priority Sports) contributed with a double-double by scoring 24 points, 6 rebounds and 14 assists for the winners. American power forward Randolph Morris (211-86, college: Kentucky) replied with a double-double by scoring 35 points (!!!) and 12 rebounds and his fellow American import guard Stephon Marbury (188-77, college: Georgia Tech) added 8 points and 7 assists in the effort for Beijing Ducks. Five Guandong Tigers and four Beijing Ducks players scored in double figures. Beijing Ducks' coach LuLei Min gave up on the game allowing to play eleven players seeing no chance for a win. Guandong Tigers have an impressive five-game winning streak. They maintain second position with 16-3 record having six points less than leader Liaoning H. Defending champion Beijing Ducks keep the third place with five games lost. They share the position with Guangsha L.. Guandong Tigers are looking forward to face Jilin Tigers (#8) in Changchun in the next round where they are favorite. Beijing Ducks will play at home against Bayi Rockets (#18) and are hoping to prove to their fans that the loss was just an accident.
