The game between eleventh ranked Shanghai Sharks (11-9) and 14th ranked Zhejiang Chouzhou Bank (6-14) in Shanghai on Wednesday ended with biggest points difference. Shanghai Sharks outscored guests from Hangzhou 129-101. The hosts were tied at the half but managed to speed up in last two quarters eventually winning the game. Shanghai Sharks dominated down low during the game scoring 100 of its points in the paint compared to Zhejiang Chouzhou Bank's 62 and made 23-of-29 free shots (79.3 percent) during the game. They outrebounded Zhejiang Chouzhou Bank 64-29 including a 25-12 advantage in offensive rebounds. American players dominated the game. The winners were led by forward Michael Beasley (208-89, college: Kansas St.) who had that evening a double-double by scoring 21 points, 10 rebounds and 4 assists and power forward Bernard James (208-85, college: Florida St.) supported him with 22 points and 12 rebounds. Even 36 points (!!!) and 6 rebounds by point guard Errick McCollum (185-88, college: Goshen) did not help to save the game for Zhejiang Chouzhou Bank. Forward Charles Gaines (201-81, college: S.Mississippi) added 20 points and 8 rebounds for the guests. Both teams had five players each who scored in double figures. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Shanghai Sharks have a solid four-game winning streak. They moved-up to tenth place, which they share with Shandong FB. Loser Zhejiang Chouzhou Bank dropped to the fifteenth position with 14 games lost. Shanghai Sharks will meet higher ranked Shanxi Zhongyu (#6) in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Zhejiang Chouzhou Bank's supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will face at home their local rival from Hangzhou Zhejiang Guangsha Lions.
